Re: Im thinking of shaving
Tue, March 29, 2005 - 5:45 AMmost years i've shorn for the summer months. nothing so delicate as shaving...just as close as the clippers'll get. though sometimes i'll sport a hawk and a wee goatee. i catch hell from my principled longhair friends about it
"it is NOT a fashion statement! it's a way of life!"
to me, it's convenient. in that vein, blazing heat is inconvenient - moreso with a full head of hair and furry cheeks.

Tue, March 29, 2005 - 8:02 AMI'll be polite and refrain from using the "P" word... All you guys that threaten to shave and complain about itch.....LET IT GROW!!!
Take my word for it. After a while the itching stops.
This is the CULT OF THE BEARD. Certain sacrifices must be made for ultimate sexyness -

Re: Im thinking of shaving
Tue, March 29, 2005 - 11:59 AMi deal with the same thing, since i should be a part of the sweaty hairy men tribe, certain parts of the beard are easy to grow back, but the things that are worth keeping are the handlebars and the devils point, everything else can be shaved and grown back again in no time....handlebars are our primal version of antlers and tusks, they show off the power of being male

Re: Im thinking of shaving
Tue, April 26, 2005 - 12:30 AMI'm sure it makes me a beard wus but I've never gone a whole year without being clean shaven.
I can grow a good beard in just a month so my usual MO is this:
1) get lazy and stop shaving
2) at 2 months do some moderate trimming
3) at 4 months begin non-stop internal conversation "should I shave it off or not?"
4) shave and enjoy several days of freaking myself out by being surprised at seeing my face in mirror.
5) Give-in to laziness and return to step one.
I'm probably in the wrong tribe with my lack of devotion to the beard but I can't get motivated enough to start "Lazy Fuckers who Hate Shaving" tribe. -

Mon, January 23, 2006 - 7:02 AMOh man, I just did last night. Had the beard pretty full but no sideburns, now, just a moustache! Dang it sure is cold out!! Funny how you can really feel the cold now :)
Don't worry, it won't be gone for long... it'll just come back bigger and better! yeah!
